Antique 18 German Bisque Shoulderhead CLosed Mouth Doll, Well Made Body, Glass Eyes. An exceptionally nice hard-to-find 18 antique German bisque shoulderhead doll. Brown glass set eyes…… Original sturdy well made oilcloth body with pin joints at elbows, hips & knees……. Well shaped bisque lower arms……. From estate of a private collector, doll appears in process of being dressed and has underwear including lace trimmed chemise top, bloomers and a lace-up doll corset, also has oilcloth tie shoes. Appears to be a plaster pate with part of cardboard on top. Incised 7 1/2 (top of head near pate); C 1/2 Germ – (this is found near base of shoulder plate, I attempted to look underneath the oilcloth, not able to read everything as oilcloth body firmly glued and don’t want to risk damaging the head). Generally very good, body is sturdy and well made, bisque head is good but note some wig pulls left side of head above ears as shown in photos, bisque hands are good with no chipping, may need cleaning. Also note there is a mold line along left side of head below ear – it appears that some of tinted bisque color ran down this line, please study photos to see this. I’ve tried to describe her accurately but may have missed something so please ask questions. Have never seen this doll and would welcome any information. Thank you for looking! See my other listings.
