C. 1920s 8 FLAPPER DOLL Simon & Halbig # 1078 Antique German Bisque Head

8 Antique Flapper-Body Doll. Simon & Halbig #1078. Marked (lightly): 1078 1079? Simon & Halbig S&H Germany. She has an open mouth and glass sleep eyes, which is amazing detail considering she is just under 8 tall. She is dressed in an original period coat and hat. The coat seems to be made of fine soft peach/pink felt with stitching, with faux white fur at the collar and cuffs. The hat matches the coat and has the same stitching. I have seen other dolls of this model in similar coats. Her dress and slip are amazing. When she’s not wearing her hat, she likes to wear the flapper headband as pictured. She is on a 5-piece composition flapper body with painted shoes and socks. They are light brown single-strap shoes with heels. Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. She has been restrung. The bisque head is perfect, with no chips, cracks, rubs, or repaint. The body has its original finish with no repairs or repaint. There is one place on the right ankle above shoe where there is a craze line — a small crack in the composition or paint. The clothes are in great shape with no rips or repairs. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE – for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of “hair” lashes on bisque heads (if they had them), not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors – for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues — hairline crack, total repaint, etc. – would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not. They are to be expected. I’LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER. If you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, or U. These countries have more flexible Priority Post options, but it depends on the size and value of the item you’re purchasing. And provided the items can travel safely in the same box. Opens in a separate window/tab. As often happens, it’s the few bad apples out there who ruin it for the rest of us. Not knowing what they’re doing. And then, when they realize they’ve ruined the doll, they return it saying it was defective. BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT.. I do bend over backwards, attempting to disclose any noteworthy condition issues I can find or think of. But these are antique and vintage dolls — so, please understand that they won’t be in brand-new condition. There will always be some minor indication of their age, and it would be impossible to itemize every single pinhead-size stain on the outfit, or hairline scratch on the body. Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls. IT CONTAINS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
