17 Very Rare Fancy Hairstyle Conta Boehme 1870 Antique German China Doll

Relisted due to a layaway falling through. Gorgeous 17 China Doll with very rare fancy hairstyle. I believe she may be by Conta & Boehme but Im not 100% sure. Her head and shoulderplate are in good condition but there is a tiny nip to the tip of her nose. If you choose to have this touched up, I know an amazing restorer. Her clothes are antique and her black cape has some wear and loss to the fabric. Her lace shawl is gorgeous. Her limbs are antique too. I believe her arms may have been from two different dolls though as one has more of a pink tint than the other. Her body is antique but may not be as old as she is. Very rare and lovely doll. RARE early 17 inch Closed-Mouth Bahr & Proschild 225 Antique Doll

George Bahr and August Pröschild founded the Bähr & Pröschild doll company (also spelled Baehr & Proeschild) which began as a porcelain and doll factory in 1871 in Ohrdruf, Germany. They registered their first doll mold in 1888 and merged with the Bruno Schmidt doll company around 1919. Not at all as prolific in the volume of dolls they produced compared to Simon & Halbig or Kestner, this firm nevertheless excelled in producing high quality dolls of superior craftsmanship. The pinnacle of their doll production was with the bisque heads of the 200 series dolls, the most popular of which were the 224 and 225 molds. Most desirable of all were the closed-mouth versions of which this is one. Bahr & Proschild presents to you this closed-mouth 225-model child doll, in a gorgeous antique costume! She stands at 17 tall, with a bisque socket dome head with a delightful expression and a gorgeous face, on a beautiful, shapely original wood and composition body. A chocolate brown human hair wig adorns her head, and she’s dressed in a gorgeous cream colored antique frock with pink lining with a sweet bonnet and a gold pin at her neckline. This nice, affordable cabinet size doll is sure to win your heart!! Make off with her now and add her to your collection! This doll is available on my customizable layaway plans! With a layaway plan, you can secure this doll for yourself, while taking your time to pay at your own pace! She has a bisque socket head, with painted and molded features; set deep brown glass spiral eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brown brows, a closed mouth, and a soft rosy complexion. She has pierced ears with antique aqua blue glass bead earrings, and stands at 17 on her original straight-wristed wood and composition Sonneberg body, with a highly detailed molded torso. She wears a deep chocolate brown mohair wig in a wavy style, and comes with her original brown human hair wig. She wears a beautiful light cream colored frock, with pink trim running along silk pleated front both sides and around the drop-waisted pleats and lace overlay. It is decorated with pale cream colored pleated silk down the front of the bodice, and lace over the shoulder to 3/4 length to ends of the sleeves. Underneath she wears a white cotton full slip, with lace trim at the hem. On her feet are a pair of white knit stockings and white steel buckle adorned leather shoes. On her head is a straw bonnet, with white lace overlay, pink, blue and white flowers, and ruffled white lace at the brim and white ties, and she wears antique earrings with round aqua blue glass beads. MARKS: 225 on the back of her head CONDITION: Generally Excellent! The bisque head is free of any hairlines, or cracks, bearing top-quality modeling and painting of features. However, there was a tiny repair right behind her right ear, which is barely noticeable. The ear had originally been repaired terribly with some kind of plastic which was ugly. I hired Sandy Hohne, a professional doll doctor re-repair the ear where its barely noticeable now(see last photo of the back of the bisque head). The glass eyes are aligned well. The original Sonneberg body is in good shape. The torso is very shapely, with very detailed molding. The costume is in great shape. Overall, this wonderful girl has held up nicely over the years, and would make a fine addition to any collection. Be sure to check out my other items as I list new pieces every day! 18 Antique German Sonneberg Bahr & Proschild # 183 Solid Dome Doll French Trade

This is a very pretty Sonneberg Bahr & Proschild # 183 doll made for the French Market. She is 18 tall and is marked 183 on the back of the head. No hairlines, repairs or chips. There is a hole on the top of the head as shown that I appears to have been made to restring. Beautiful face with great color and nicely painted lips. She is on her original body with all fingers and toes. It Has some repair/repaint to the neck area, right fingers, and knee joints. Some light touch up and and some chips as shown. It is tightly strung and will hold a pose. She has vintage and antique clothes with a vintage human hair French wig. She is a very pretty doll and is ready to be displayed. Offering a PRECIOUS 4 German all-bisque Kestner 208 doll. Circa early 1900′s. Stiff neck, arms & legs articulate. She’s marked 208/1 on head… Her arms/legs are a perfect match, they’re marked #1 on all limbs. This little beauty has gorgeous blue glass sleep eyes (original setting) that work well.. Every once in awhile they are slow to open. Her eyelids still retain their original wax! Very nice face painting w/blushed cheeks… Hard to accomplish on smaller dolls. Painted arched eyebrows w/long painted top & bottom lashes. She has the coveted closed Kestner mouth… She’s a true Redhead having a quality Mohair wig that’s done up in braids & sausage curls… She’s got a cute chunky body. Doll has white stockings with blue garters. Darling black one-strap slippers complete her look. The only flaw is her thumb has broken off of her left hand. Please enlarge photos to view the details. She’s wearing a handstitched antique dress of tiny floral design w/sweet cotton bloomers & remains of a slip underneath. The slip is silk & melting… The clothing’s sewn & pinned to her body, unable to fully remove without causing damage. I love the tansy blue accent embellishments at her dress neckline & bloomer cuffs. The spitfire personality of this diminutive little diva is quite evident even in photos if you love 208′s… Don’t pass her up, she’s superb! Adorable little black child doll standing 10 tall. I cannot make out the numbers on the back of her bisque head, however I believe she is of German origin around 1900. Calling her a mystery maker girl with a black painted bisque socket head on a crude composition body in nice shape with age related wear. She is absolutely full of cuteness and personality. Sweet and innocent expression with factory inset dark brown eyes, coral lips and caracul mohair wig firmly glued. Upon inspection she looks free from any cracks, chips or damage. She is dressed in her adorable factory original antique chemise (sewn on so I could not remove and has a small tear on one side) and primitive underwear. She holds a pose and nice stringing. Puppy dog is just a friend visiting her and not included with the sale. No stand came with her. Nice little rare antique black doll to add to your collection. Antique 6 All Bisque EARLY GERMAN KESTNER Stiff Leg Doll COBALT BLUE GLASS EYES

Offering a GORGEOUS large 6 early German all-bisque stiff-leg Kestner doll. She has the wrestler type body.. With rounded chest, belly and chubby thighs… Her proportions are ample like that of a young girl child. This beauty has an open ball head and a gorgeous innocent face w/large (knock-out) cobalt blue glass eyes in the original setting… Eyes are stationary Her eyes remind me of the German dolls made for the French trade. Her eye cut-outs are almond shaped and outlined with black and surrounded by lush black painted eyelashes… On top & bottom. Stiff neck as well as stiff legs… Her arms do articulate. Her right arm has an old repair & it was nicely done. Her right foot/tip of shoe seems to have a bit of paint touch-up.. ? From what I can see with a magnifying glass. Her markings aren’t very legible… It could possibly be a “1″ or an “11″… ? I can make out two vertical indents… That’s all that imprinted. Her face is exquisite with superb face painting. She boasts a lovely pale complexion, her bisque is sublime, very pale… I flashed her head and saw no hairlines. Doll has arched feather-painted eyebrows with the signature Kestner closed mouth of pursed coral butterfly lips. Her brows and lips have the unmistakable sheen of the lovely gloss paint they used in the early days for their quality dolls. She has a couple tiny kiln specks on her face and a minor factory flaw on the very back of her neck, which looks like faint tool marks… This can be seen as a couple thin black horizontal lines… Almost like pencil strokes, mid-way up her neck. Please enlarge photos to view. The quality wig is machine stitched down the center and has a fitted gauze head cap just like an antique wig. Her cream colored vintage/antique dress was made from fabric scraps & old lace… It’s handstitched and closes at her back with a straight pin. Doll has sweet shirred pink stockings with darling black one-strap high-heeled slippers, the slippers have yellow-tan soles She’s in excellent condition & ready to display… You’ll love her. Flower basket is not included in sale… It’s a photo prop only. She does not come with stand.
