Doll measures approximately 8 inches tall. Antique Recknagel Hawaiian doll. Beautiful and rare style dressed like a Hawaiian Islander girl. Head appears to be porcelain and limbs made of some type of composition material. Doll is dressed in a yellow dress with slip, grass skirt, and lei necklace. Doll has a beautiful face and sweet open mouth with exposed teeth. Partial mark on back of doll reads R 13/0 A. There is more information above this but is obstructed by the wig. Surface of doll has been painted to give the doll the appearance of being dark skinned. The original color of the doll can be seen in the picture lifting up a small section of her wig. Surface wear, dirt, and small stains noted consistent with its age. Stand used in some pictures is not included with the sale.
