Antique Early 19th Century Wax Glass Eye German Doll. Offering this antique 1840′s early German wax paper mache doll. She’s quite the survivor. Wonderful wax over paper mache face with brown deep set glass eyes. Usually with dolls like this, the wax is usually all but gone, but with her it’s her body that has suffered with the years. Everything is in place, but her one arm is hanging on by a thread, literally. Her legs have been taped and exhibit, the old tape covered with a gauze, soft wrap. Her wooden hands and wouldn’t be are there and complete. Her body is linen and feels straw stuffed of what remains. Lovely pearl necklace around her neck original as is most of her clothing with the exception to her blouse. She measures about 18-1/2 long and is a tried and true antique doll.
